Kuusakoski Appoints New CEO

Announcement (Espoo, Finland – January 07, 2018)

Kuusakoski is pleased to announce the appointment of Mikko Kuusilehto as the new CEO

Kuusakoski has appointed M.Sc. (Eng) Mikko Kuusilehto (42) as the new CEO. Kuusilehto has worked as a member of Kuusakoski’s management group since 2016. He has been responsible for the company’s business operations in Finland and Sweden.

Established in 1914, Kuusakoski is Northern Europe’s leading recycling services company. Our strength is in our expertise in materials, recycling and environmental technology, gained through decades of active and ongoing development.  Our newest area of operations is the manufacture of fuel from energy-rich waste that is unsuitable for recycling.  Kuusakoski Group’s turnover in 2016 was EUR 494.4 million, and the group has a total staff of around 2,350 people. 

 

Kuusakoski has appointed M.Sc. (Eng) Mikko Kuusilehto (42) as the new CEO. Kuusilehto has worked as a member of Kuusakoski’s management group since 2016. He has been responsible for the company’s business operations in Finland and Sweden.

Kekkonen became Kuusakoski’s president and CEO in 2013 with the aim of getting the company’s business operations and profitability back on a healthy level. Under Kekkonen’s leadership, Kuusakoski has undergone restructuring in line with the company’s strategy, and has focused its recycling business on its core areas. As a result, the company’s profitability has improved significantly. Kuusakoski would like to thank Atte Kekkonen for his important contribution to the family business.

With the new CEO Mikko Kuusilehto, Kuusakoski will continue on the path of profitable growth, developing its recycling business in selected core areas in close cooperation with the company’s customers.
